Out of the blue, is what it was, both our decades long home and auto insurance agency up and leaving Tacoma for the hullaballo of Bellevue; and my calling Carolyn Kulp at Narrows Insurance seeking a new, closer to home agent. Carolyn met with us and promptly submitted our particulars to a number of insurers, resulting in an immediate interest by a preferred company promising better coverage at a reduced premium. About a month later the home inspection was complete and the T's were getting crossed and the I's dotted. Our home and auto coverage is as expected, better and with lower cost. Our boat was picked up by another company at a very reasonable rate, until we hopefully sell the 18' open bow SeaRay this spring. I was with another insurance agency for 30+ years. When I got my 2025 premium notice, which increased 65% on my homeowners policy, I reached out my rep and asked her if she would check around to make sure the new premium increase was competitive. An hour later, she responded that no other insurer would write a better policy than what I currently had. That didn't seem right to me so I Googled top agencies in Western Washington and Narrows Insurance Company popped up. I emailed Narrows at 10pm and received a response from Antone, one fo the partners, 15 minutes later. I have 9 policies. In less than week, Antone found top rated insurer, who wrote the same or better policies, with premiums that saved me over $3,000. He kept me informed every step of the way, provided a spreadsheet showing cost comparisons, and picked up the phone every time I called with a question. I do not like to change companies that I have dealt with, especially those I have a 30+ year history with, but Narrows Insurance Company hit it out of the park. I am glad I made the change and would highly recommend reaching out to Narrows, even if you are satisfied with your current agent, just to make sure you are not being taken advantage of. It sure saved me a lot of money.
